AB-1353 Program Overview

The AB-1353 DUI Program is a California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) licensed alcohol and drug education program designed for individuals ordered by a California court or required by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) following certain driving under the influence (DUI) offenses.

The AB-1353 program is generally required for individuals convicted of certain first-time DUI offenses involving a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.20% or greater, or in other circumstances where ordered by the court. Program requirements are determined by the sentencing court and applicable California law.

Program Duration

The AB-1353 program consists of approximately nine months of participation. Participants are expected to attend scheduled educational sessions, group counseling sessions, and individual interviews over the duration of the program while maintaining compliance with attendance and participation requirements.

 

Important Information

The CA DMV will not accept the filing of a DL-101 Certificate of Completion if the time from Enrollment to Completion is not equal or greater than 270 Calendar Days.
